McHenry County
Peterson Park, in the City of McHenry, is home to the landmark Peterson Farm, a historic site featuring a mid-1800s homestead. Over time, the city acquired 127 acres of scenic farmland, wooded oak savanna and wetlands. When it was ready to buy another 60 acres to complete the park, it asked CorLands to acquire the land while it applied for a state grant. McHenry residents now have a unique recreational and historic resource.
