Rich is president of Carlson Environmental, Inc., an environmental consulting and engineering firm. Before founding Carlson environmental, he was director of the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and an advisor to former Illinois Governor James R. Thompson on energy, environment and other natural resource issues.
